    ...............UTSTAR WA3002-G4 Quick references..............

This modem/router/wifi of bsnl has the Hardware
board common to many other adslmodems/
( without WIFI ) and as well as wifi routers.

    (a) ITIDNA211-I , siemens sl2_141,
    .. ZXdsl 531B Beetel 450BX etc
....are some of the wifi similar to this.
    (b). Beetel110Bx1 ( without USB port), beetel220BX1
.....Utstar 300r2U ( new model) DareGlobal 108,Iball Baton
    .....etc

    Para two:
Some menu items may not be available in all
    depending on the software versions.
    (Example UT300r2U in Advanced options
    No virtual server etc )

    Para three;

This web site has instructions for many modems

    8. Last but not least.
    still the most referred/popular website.

Basically this post was for WA3002-G4 and
similarity with other WIFI routers / adsl modems
    was highlighted.

FIRMWARE UPDATE FOR DNA A 211-I

Welcome to SEMINDIA, Semiconductors - Made in India

Do not try in other modems.

As far as I know , only Software update
for Sem DNA -A211-I is available. ( may suit ITI model also )
( doubtful about WA3002-G4 ( try at OWN RISK )
Nearest choice Beetel 450BX FW( try at OWN RISK )

Can compile latest FW for most modems ( other than Dlink ),
but many users will blame me if anything goes wrong.
An user asking for a FW update should know ,
what is the risk involved. And mostly
it is about menu items. ( Like PF virtual server DDNS etc )
    Speed etc will not improve.

What are you in PPPoE or bridge

First delete PPP adapter Reliance if not using. Then setup PPPoE desktop from your Internet Properties. If you want to use wireless then disconnect your lan connection from your Router.

IF above message appears better to avoid any Upgrade/downgrade.

seems version in your router and version from utility same.
You may not get dramatic improvement/s in your router's performance.
Firmware for WA3002_g4 will be named bsnl etc.
As your PF menu items appear now Save current settings
( from management menu Backup) to say C:/My Documents/ DNA PF working.
If any other problem is felt please post Statistics/ADSL
page as screen shot jpg Annexure here.
( "Go Advanced" scroll down page for Manage Attachments Upload etc )

If you have configured in PPPoE mode, simply plug in the RJ 45 cable to the back side of modem and to the LAN card. If you need to use more than one system independently, you need to be in PPPoE.

can i use this as a router for bsnl wimax, can anybody explain how.
    what is SSID?
  18. essbebe

    essbebe LEARNER

No.this modem/router/is telephone line based adsl mode..
    2.
SSID stands for Service Set Identifier, a rather elaborate substitute for "network name." It's the unique name that identifies the wireless network you use, differentiating it from all others....
