    i applied for type 2 modem and BSNL provide with "Model : Nokia Siemens Residential Router 1600 "....

    the thing is that the customer care officials said we can simultaneously use broadband and voice calls.... but while browsing, if my landline rings (voice call), broadband connection is disconnected and i have to dial again...

    so i got a doubt, whether they mistakenly gave type 1 modem

    appearance of the modem :

    it has 10 green LED notifications as belom

    ""POWER : DSL : INTERNET : LAN1 : LAN2 :LAN3 : LAN4 : WLAN : LED WITH NO NAME: STATUS"" these LEDs are placed on blue plastic frontplate...

    (( Sorry i couldn't mail the picture ))
    ((Guess BSNL provides the same type n colour modems all over india))

    plz do reply :)

    thank u :)

    type 1=> 1lan connection+ 0wifi
    type 2=> 1lan+ 1 wifi
    type 3 => 4lan +0 wifi
    type 4=> 4lan +1wifi

    your must be type 4 modem which costs Rs 1600. but nowadays, bsnl people are interchangeably using type 2 and type 4 modems so its one and the same thing.. dont look at the leds, look behind the modem, if there are 4 ports to connect ethernet cables(known as RJ 45 connectors), and one antenna kida thing, its a type 4/type 2 modem

    Splitter may be faulty. Ask BSNL personnel to replace the splitter. Make them correct it for you.
