I have a problem opening some certain sites. While searching
on google , I came to know changing the MTU may solve the problem.

os : windows xp service pack 2
    router type : UT300R2U.

I can't find any option to change the MTU value in my modem.

    please help . :)

    best regards,
    Spectre

MTU option will be in internet connection settings. Before trying MTU, try Open DNS

    1. In WAN settings uncheck "Bridged" and select ppp/PPPoE
In the page where you enter UserID ( without @ bsnl.in ) and pw
    MTU box may be available.
    **************************************
    2.
    try tcp/ip optimizer from speedguide.net.
    follow the instructions.
    Post ipconfig /all data
Start run type cmd type ipconfig /all

    @spectre
    I mentioned
    Depends on the Firmware version.
There are two versions of Ut300r2u Old and new .
members respond to posts with minimum input from thread starters
and have to assume so many details.

    Also other option/s were mentioned.

Changing DNS is a simple process. You can always switch back to previous one.

So the other options you mentioned in your first post do works?

I read somewhere in the different site's forum these options change only
registry values only but the modem's MTU does not get affected.Sites such as
    speedguide.net shows the unaffected results.

    please confirm this. :)
