HELP!! I need to gain weight; 8-10Kg min!

    Hey all... just checkd my weight yesterday and i have come to know that i am underweight!! This sux... i am quite thin for my age, but dint realize i wud b underweight... i weigh 49Kgs!
    I eat quite a normal diet actually, the stuff just doesn't seem to have any effect on the fat content on my body :( I shud be in perfect shape if i want to live normally, what shud i do?
    Tell me how do i gain weight and some fat too? I'm just tired of people sayin "Kuch khaya karo" and what not :mad:! I'm just so damn serious right now, i want my body to be perfect... Vegetarian or non veg is no question for me... i'll eat anything (well not exactly everything :D)
    I used to be veg but realize its not gettin me anywhere...

    Terrible man !

    Try increasing the amount of food u eat ..... Dont eat fatty foods just cause u wanna gain weight ... it contains cholestrol and ll only give u a heart attack ....

    The normal food
    Meat in moderation is a good idea ..... Put on some body mass by eating more ....

    I'm 5ft8... ya not very terribly but i need to put on some weight.. n i dnt know how to go bout it...

    U'll gain weight with ur age... don't worry too much about it... maintain a healthy life style... any regular exercise will help... it will also increase ur diet...

    Well don't over do it with food especially fatty foods which are fried and full of pure fat! Instead take everything in moderation with a variety of fats, protein, carbs and so on, but increase the amount of food you have in a day!

    Eat things like paneer, cashew nuts, almonds, have chicken but don't over do it! Also drink lots of milk which will help in all ways!

    Have good sized portions of food, have pranthas in the morning, and keep eating something little until lunch and again have good lunch, eat little things till dinner and then have a full dinner!

    When i mean little things in between, i mean snacks!

    Yes this exactly what i'm trying to do for some days now Preeti! Fatty junk foods will just ruin my good heart. thanks a lot for the advice...

    Check your BMI ..... You ll find that you need to be atleast 5-6 kgs more than what you r .......

    49 kgs for a 5ft8 inch guy is def underweight ........

    i have a friend -->5 feet 3 inch he is of normal physic [neither fat nor thin , just the correct size] and he weighs 60 kgs .......

    yes i have checked it and i KNOW i'm underweight BUT not by a very BIG margin.... just 1.5 points behind normal weight.
    To more than cover that i just need 12 pounds or 5.4 KG. btw thanks for ur concern m8.. tryin all out to be normal :)

  11. If you really want to take any medication for this i would suggest try homoeopathy it is same as it contains lowest amount of crude drug. You can use Alfa Alfa Q 10-15 drops with meal

    Honestly there are many reasons for weightloss- even extreme high rate of metabolism or even thyroid as well. Thyroid issues are not only to create massive weight issues but also other issues like redundant depression and other emotional changes and even physical changes as well. Its best if you consult doctors before doing anything. I am twice the weight but I gained in 2 months time. Doctors that I ate a lot due to depression or something but when I asked a friend and went to endocryoligist, I had hyperthyroidism. I am diagnosed for 7 years now but it is now that I am showing improvement.

    hey Doc... well m thinking its best not to just go off but reduce my visits here :D...
    m studyin for my competition exams next yr...

    i have suffered a lot due to my low weight thru the yrs...and want to end that now that m gonna go to college n all....
    yes i regularly have very depressing times... maybe it is a thyroid issue after all... so i've to get that checked as well...

    I used to take a homeopathy medicine couple of times during winters which used to prevent my skin from dryness... I don't remember the name... but it was good... can u plz share the name of that medicine if u know...

    i 've just decided i'll watch my weight thru the month after continuing with my increased food intake :D... no jumpin to conclusions like thyroid n what not ;) lol...
    i have a feelin it will increase.

    Yes its a good idea to change your diet and increase it and see how your weight has changed in a months time! If its increased then carry on with your diet, if not then see a doctor!

    Just checked, I have gained 2 kilos since 20th Nov (when i started my crusade :D)... i think this is a decent rate to gain weight... i'm happy now, can certainly feel the difference mainly on my chest for now :)...
    i just need to stay on my diet plan now to hopefully go on to a normal healthy weight. Thanks all.... going off again on my break... i'll keep visiting now n then.
